Even electronic paper needs shuffling

Shuffling electronic paper to bring in great folks for our DH symposium and workshop in August. Check out the lineup:

“What the…?”

Just working on a task for our World War I Linked Data (WW1LOD) project, evaluating some automatically generated event types that we ran as a test to figure out if it would be worth taking this particular approach further. There were some good ones, some middling ones and some “what the…?” ones, which of course made the whole exercise worthwhile.

Google drives…our work

Organizing the task force files on Google Drive and sharing with the task force writ large. So convenient you can share whole folders at once! It feels great to see how much we have accomplished since we first started meeting regularly last month – we’re through the environmental scans and on to participatory design. Watch out CU DHers, we’re coming for you!

Diluting nerdiness…

Starting today we have some fabulous CU collaborators from outside the Libraries joining us for the participatory design process:

  • Elaine Paul, Visual Resource Center, Department of Art & Art History
  • Jacie Moriyama, Academic Technology Consultant, OIT (Leeds School of Business)
  • Viktoriya Oliynyk, Academic Technology Consultant, OIT (College of Arts & Sciences)

Tervetuloa! 🙂

Digital Humanities Task Force Meeting 10:00-11:30

Eight CU Boulder Librarians, Two Information Technology Professionals, and One Visual Resources Librarian got together to plan how to survey and interview the CU Boulder community on Digital Humanities needs.

We decided on doing interviews, a focus group, and several different surveys. Now we have to get to work!

CU Boulder does DH!

Welcome to our  Day of DH 2013 blog! It will follow the 8 members of the Library’s Digital Humanities Task force. First up today, a meeting! As a group we are working on assessing the campus’ DH needs, and are charged with crafting a plan for how the libraries can support Digital Humanists. But individually many of us are working and collaborating on Digital Humanities projects.

The Task Force:

  • Thea Lindquist
  • Alex Watkins
  • Holley Long
  • Erika Klein
  • Eric Harbeson
  • Leo Arellano
  • Esta Day
  • Michael Dulock
