Faster than the speed of ight…

Happy #DayofDH – and welcome to another ever-moving world of digital humanities practice… working faster than the speed of “ight” this morning, I registered this site under the handle @meghaninotion, offering the perfect opportunity for chagrin AND reflection.*

Outpacing oneself in this realm can happen too easily; hence, my amusing handle for this #DayofDH blog. In my digital humanities work, especially in discovery research phases, I’ve found myself overwhelmed (in mostly good ways). That is, overwhelmed in relation to tracking the many outstanding DH projects and partnerships, as well as overwhelmed by the bodies of knowledge being produced in pursuit of DH goals. It’s fantastic(al), compelling, and fast-paced, if you allow it to get the best of you.

Yet if I am to be @meghaninotion, I will not go down with this ship – nay, I shall continue to tenaciously navigate the ins-and-outs of DH endeavors: “for a smooth sea never made a skilled sailor…” and I am learning every step of the way, including reinforcing the necessity of proofreading.
